The Beacon Dispatch started as a casual, personal weblog written by former Beacon resident Michael Daecher to document his life and times to the north of NYC.
In July of 2004 four people got together with Mike to move his web-based musings to the printed page.The Beacon Dispatch very quickly became the City of Beacon’s monthly paper of record, providing in-depth coverage of the people and the issues that made Beacon tick.
In March of 2007, after nearly three years and 30 issues, limited resources—both human and mammon—forced the paper into hiatus.The launch of this new website marks what we hope is the rebirth of the Beacon Dispatch.
We’re happy to be back, we hope that you’re happy too.
